Ahead of tomorrow’s Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing to “Examine Opportunities for Congress to Reform the Permitting Process for Energy and Mineral Projects, the Capture Action Project (CAP) released the following statement:
“CAP thanks the Senate Energy and Natural Resources for holding a hearing on federal permitting reform,” said CAP spokesperson Rebecca Brown. “Addressing flaws in our permitting process for energy infrastructure is critical to driving a clean energy transition and will quicken the development and deployment of proven technology solutions like carbon capture. If we are serious about reducing our carbon footprint and developing a healthy clean energy economy, then we need more carbon capture, utilization, and storage today – not five to 10 years from now, once infrastructure projects have made it through miles of unnecessary red tape.”
