The Capture Action Project (CAP) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new draft rule predicating the performance of power plants on the potential to install carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology:

“CAP is glad that EPA recognizes the importance of CCS as part of the climate change solution tool box,” said CAP spokesperson Rebecca Brown. “However, to make this vision a reality more must be done by the federal government to ensure timely permitting decisions are made and that adequate information is provided regarding the inherent safety of CCS platforms.”
